Lancaster – Although drizzly at the start, the Perkins 12th Annual Golf Tournament ended with sunshine and blue skies – and brought in $35,000 for the agency. Nearly 100 golfers turned out at Sterling National Country Club on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, for the agency’s popular fund-raising event, which this year received top sponsorships from Clinton Savings Bank and Walmart. “We’re incredibly grateful for the loyal support of our sponsors and golfers who are always happy to get behind this event,” remarked Perkins Executive Director, Dr. Charles P. Conroy. All proceeds from the annual tournament go directly to benefit the agency’s 150 students and residents in support of programming for children’s special learning and mental health needs.

Tournament Chair and Director of Organizational Advancement at Perkins, Kerry A. Flathers, offered this praise: “The Perkins Golf Tournament continues to be a growing success with each year bringing an increase in funds for our programs and services. This year was no exception. The combination of loyal sponsors and golfers who come back year after year and new supporters make for a high-energy day. Sterling National Country Club had the course in top condition and our Perkins dining staff offered a post-tournament reception like no other. All of these factors resulted in a fantastic fund-raising event.” According to Flathers, photography of golfing foursomes and other highlights from tournament day are up for viewing on the event on-line e-journal site: wizadjournal.com/perkinsgolf2015/.
