Perkins provides all full-time employees (assigned to 30 hours or more per week) with a benefits package that includes:
Dependent care savings plan (allowing salary to be converted to nontaxable child and dependent care benefits) and healthcare reimbursement savings plan (for medically-related expenses not covered by your health plan).
Staff is entitled and encouraged to take two weeks of vacation each year and also accrue 12 sick days per year. At the employee’s anniversary date, the employee will be reimbursed for unused sick time unless they elect to bank sick days. Perkins also offers 11 paid holidays, including your birthday. A confidential Employee Assistance Plan is available free of charge to all staff members and families.
Part-time employees (assigned to a specific number of hours per week under 30 hours) are eligible for vacation, sick and holiday benefits, prorated to the number of hours worked per week. Those staff members may participate in the 403(b) retirement plan to the extent they are eligible.
In addition, all Perkins employees have use of our on-site fitness center and indoor swimming pool, access to ample free parking on campus, and a commuter-friendly location in central Massachusetts.
Additional Requirements — Perkins conducts a criminal background check as part of the selection process. In addition, individuals hired during the current school year of 2013-2014 and thereafter, are subject to, and employment is contingent upon, a national fingerprint-based criminal background check.
Perkins trains employees by offering extensive week-long training sessions to all new employees. Additional training of 24 hours per school year is offered on a variety of relevant topics including: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Collaborative Problem Solving, CPR and First Aid.
