For years the adults from our Barlow program and the residents from Davis Manor have been enjoying a much-loved fall tradition, the Harvest Celebration. On Saturday, October 18, over 90 residents, family, and friends gathered at Davis Manor, an adult assisted living program located on our Lancaster Campus.
Davis Manor Director, Sharon Brennan, who works closely with Barlow Program Director, Linda Alger, said that the anticipation for the day is as much fun as the actual event. Residents help with shopping, baking, and decorating. This year’s menu included finger sandwiches, chips, fall salad, and clam chowder. The meal was topped off with homemade apple crisp.
The afternoon of activities included hayrides, music, dancing, and a visit from some of our beautiful mini ponies from the Perkins Rein in a Dream program. Many guest simply enjoyed sitting outside and visiting with family and friends. It was a great day and we thank those who were able to join us.
