It’s a Zentangle Thing

Over 100 students and staff had the opportunity to participate in instruction in the method of Zentagle on Friday, June 26, 2015. Instructor Karen Keefe guided participants in the art. According to her Be Wise website, “Zentangle is an easy-to-learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns that anyone can learn and enjoy It is enjoyed by people with a wide range of ages, skills and interests. Zentangle is a fascinating art form that is fun and relaxing, and increases both focus and creativity. Zentangle has a way of increasing and inspiring expression of your personal creativity.”

Math teacher Wendy Rock organized the special activity and could not be more pleased with the results of the day. “I thought this would be great for the students because Zentangle provides a structured method for calming and centering oneself when anxious or distracted. Students loved the experience and at the end of the class, most did not want to leave.”
