Lancaster, MA – Local business, Leominster Credit Union, donates 14 laptop computers to Perkins in Lancaster, MA. Perkins and Leominster Credit Union’s team members met safely outside on the Perkins campus in Lancaster, MA for the donation.
Leominster Credit Union (LCU) has been a friend of Perkins since the 1990s, providing much-needed support throughout the years. In September 2020, LCU donated 20 desktop computers to Perkins due to their staff transitioning to laptops earlier on in the pandemic. The new donation of 14 laptops will be used to replace aging units used by staff members.
“We’re so grateful to Leominster Credit Union for their donation. Laptops have become essential to many staff members, especially in the past 18 months, and this donation comes at a great time. Equipping staff with good laptops is critical to supporting the day-to-day work and operations,” says Steve Young, Perkins Vice President of Facilities and Technology.
Perkins residential students have remained full-time and in-person since the start of the pandemic in 2020, while day students transitioned from a virtual learning platform in the spring of 2020 to a fully in-person educational program on campus last summer. Other programs, such as Perkins Behavioral Health, have been utilizing telehealth services since March 2020.
