Perkins has appointed Derek Padon to the position of Director of Human Resources. This is a new position for Perkins created for the purpose of providing leadership and direction for developing and implementing strategic human capital programs that will serve to attract and retain a talented work force. Derek is excited to be a part of Perkins. “The most important asset an organization has is its’ employees. I am impressed by the talented, dedicated and compassionate staff at Perkins and am proud to be a part of this team,” he said.
Derek comes to Perkins with 15 years of Human Resources experience focused on talent acquisition and employee/labor relations in both the non-profit and private sector. Chief Executive Officer Michael W. Ames said, “We are thrilled to have a seasoned professional like Derek to lead Perkins Human Resources and help us continue to strengthen our greatest resource – our staff. He has impressive experience in the non-profit sector and will make a great addition to an already strong executive team.” Derek’s most recent job was with Steward Norwood Hospital where he spent 5 years as the Director of Human Resources. He also worked for CharterCare Health Partners in Providence, Rhode Island and The May Institute in Randolph, MA.
Along with talent acquisition, Derek will also work on compensation and benefits programs, performance management and employee relations. Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Johnson and Wales University and a Human Resources Certificate from Northeastern University.
