We enthusiastically announce the kick off for our 2015 Annual Appeal. During this season of Thanksgiving, we express our gratitude to those who have helped us help those we serve. Please read this message from our Chief Executive Officer, Michael W. Ames, Ph.D.
Not so long ago, I made my first visit to Perkins. Then, as a candidate for the job of CEO, I toured the Perkins campus and marveled at the beautiful setting.
Now, as CEO of Perkins, when I walk the campus I see how fortunate we are to have facilities and grounds that support critical programming for our students and residents who ,without it, would be marginalized. From our education buildings that address the learning needs of students who struggle with emotional and behavioral health issues, to our assisted living facility that meets the needs of adults and elderly with developmental delays, we provide life-changing services in this peaceful and tranquil setting.
This year’s annual report, A Time of Great Change, captures the significant growth of Perkins under my predecessor, Dr. Charles P. Conroy. The advances highlighted in the report were made possible through the generous support of friends. As you enjoy the report, please take a moment to reflect on the importance of our setting, our facilities and, most importantly, the innovative programming that happens here. Together with our talented staff, these elements allow us to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children, youth, adults and their families each year.
As we move into the future in this time of great change, your support is as meaningful as ever. By donating now, you help us maintain and expand our programming so that we can continue to support the growing number of people who need our services, helping them to flourish and achieve their unique potential. Your contribution will help us increase our educational and vocational resources, provide much-needed scholarships for our specialized animal therapy program and ensure that we continue to meet the needs of all the individuals we serve through our programs.
Thank you for partnering with us as we anticipate a promising future for those we serve.
